I am going through beach-wear withdrawl, I think. I realized that the outfits I wear on vacation tend to be super simple. Why can't I be super simple at home? Well, weather is one reason. PNW weather means that it is essential to layer all year round. California and Arizona, where I grew up, only require a light jacket if any at all. Despite the inevitable layers of fall, winter, and early spring, I can keep it simple in the summer!

I've had these jeans for a VERY long time and haven't worn them. I had seen the combo of grey jeans and a motorcycle jacket somewhere earlier this spring, and I have been really wanting to try it out. Mara and I were celebrating her final week in Seattle and also Seattle restaurant week. So I wanted something fun but with enough room for the delicious food and drinks I'd be consuming!

When Jeff from Midori sent me the ribbon to make the belt for their blog, he also sent me several other amazing ribbons! I am particularly in love with the grey Dupioni silk ribbon! For some reason this week I had the idea to use it with my pink African glass beads. I like the finished product. The knots turned out to be abut the same size as the beads. I think I will try using ribbon in other jewelry pieces as well.

Still Looking

Hi Friends!

I hope everyone had a lovely and restful weekend! This weekend was a busy with family and friends! I am still going to post cookie recipe, but probably not until tomorrow. Between the busy weekend and an injured pup, my thoughts have been elsewhere!

I finally found a sailor-esque top that meets most of my standards, and it was only $13! Such a score. I am still pining for an authentic, wool, French sailing shirt, but this will do for now. I have also been pining for the Lanvin shoes in my "Wishlist." There is no way I am going to spend the $600 dollars for those beauties, but I am going to create my own version. More on those soon! But these little Steve Madden flats are going to be part of the project.

Hi friends!

If April showers bring May flowers, what do March flowers bring? 

I feel like most blog posts, from me and from fellow bloggers, mention the weather in some capacity. This makes sense in that the weather is the biggest determinant in what I, and most likely you, wear every day. After yesterday's spectacularly sunny weather, the rain was deflating. I fell back into my dark winter colors and abandoned my colorful, bare-legged ambitions. But every cloud has a silver lining, and today I was exhausted. It felt nice to wear a comfy sweater and jeans. This outfit also blended in with all the other sports fan who were watching the Husky's game this afternoon! Sadly we lost, but there is always next year!

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

I wanted to wear jeans . . .

Hello Friends!

By the time Thursday night rolled around, I was ready for a jeans day. When I have to work super early, especially on a Friday, I want jeans, possibly a sweatshirt, and my trusty Chuck Taylors. Somehow I came up with something a bit more polished, but still comfortable. I really liked Kansas Couture's post about denim. It made me think about how I wear my own denim pieces.

All in all, this outfit was a nice substitute for basic jeans and tee. I think I works well with the belt tying it all together. My only wish is that I had worn flats, but then my pants would have been dragging. (I really wish they made adjustable hems like they make adjustable waistbands for kiddos!)
